Metrocon Metropolis

Dark Times sometimes call for darker measures. It is very easy when surrounded by death and madness, to adapt and adopt the tactics of the enemy. To some degree, the Autobots fight two battles. One is against the forces of evil, be they Decepticon, Helexian, or some raider. The other battle is that never-ending poetical fight against their inner darkness.

The Metrocon Autobots have seen the very best of their race extinguished in the great Reckoning. This terrible loss has left them jaded and bitter and with little reason to hope. Most Metrocon citizens have indeed given up hope for a better world and see no reason to fight on. But a few brave robots believe in the Cause, and it is these Autobots upon which the future of Metrocon and perhaps Cybertron depends.

There is an underlying sadness in this once proud city. Unspoken, but ever present. It is clear that once it was magnificent in its glory: the great gleaming metallic structures rising high above the prospering planet. Now these structures are aging from lack of maintenance, save for a few towering examples at the heart of the city.

Command Structure:

Alistar is the duly appointed military leader of the Metrocon Militia. Alistar leads with a seemingly firm hand, but on the inside she is not so sure. It is Alistar's goal to unite the disparate factions of Cybertron by forcing them to see the folly of war.

Hammerfall is the Security Director. He keeps the city tight and safe. As the Decepticon Starcrosser once said, "Metrocon is a tough nut to crack. Even the Autobots have a tough time getting in."

In addition to the general military and security forces, Metrocon has two subgroups: The Lightning Strikers and The Pride of Cybertron. (LINKS TO THREADS)

Character Creation:

Metrocon has its exclusive weapons available only to its denizens. True to the Autobot philosophy, Metrocon specializes in defensive weapons and pacification equipment. non-violent weaponry such as shields, tazers, neutralizers, and dampning nets are more plentiful and cheaper here.

Reporting for Duty:

1. You may report to Commander Alistar, leader of the Metrocon Autobot Military, or one of her subcommanders. For example, Tsunami is subcommander and leader of the subgroup Lightning Strikers, a unit of Autobots with jet/plane alternate modes.

2. You may take a piece-meal assignment from the New Hall mission board (LINK). Pay is in the posting along with a short blurb describing the requirements and possible risks.

Its official title is the Center for Community Cervices and Public Works, but it has simply been dubbed 'The Hall.' The Board is a large holo-globe which creates four slowly rotating screens, each displaying 'open' assignments. Open assignments are missions or services provided by either the Metrocon military or independent contractors which may be undertaken by any recognized Autobot Soldier so long as they are not already assigned to a task.

3. Metrocon has a decent market and there is almost always work that needs doing. I'm sure if you poke around you'll find plenty on your own to keep you occupied.
